New SBC President Frank Page

Congratulations to Dr. Frank Page of Taylors First Baptist in Taylors, SC for being elected president of the Southern Baptist Convention. I know he will do an excellent job leading the convention for this year. I am not sure when the last time was (Richard Furman?) where a South Carolina pastor was elected president. If anyone knows, let me know.

Charlie,

What do think about his stance on Calvinsim? Does he have one? Also, I was interested in statements about him being a "big-tent evangelical."

He wrote a book called Trouble with the Tulip. You can go to Founders.org and look under the recent posts and see Tom Ascol's critique of it.

I know that Page has publicly stated that he does not care if he works with a Calvinist or an Armenian, just as long as they have a sweet spirit and a warm heart for the lost. But, I do know he disagrees with Reformed Theology as a whole.
